As members of an organization that advises other organizations, Edge's consultants are keenly aware of human interconnection. For many Edge members, "The responsibility for a solution starts with me" is a natural attitude towards global problems such as world hunger. We also take action closer to home with contributions of time, goods, or donations. Membership in professional organizations is a way of taking our orientation to knowledge sharing outside our own group.
Be the Change Earth Alliance
Be the Change is a threefold community engagement program that empowers citizens to understand the fundamental causes of the ecological crisis facing us and to engage in personal actions to meet these challenges.
Edge associates participated in the first Canadian symposium of the Be the Change Earth Alliance and have gone on to support the country's first Action Circles. Circles are groups of 8-12 friends or like-minded people who commit to meeting weekly or bi-weekly to dialogue on sustainability concerns and support each other in change actions. The circles provide individuals with an effective framework for exploring personal values and creating new habits in a fun and personal context.
